New dish alert!

We’ve had fantastic feedback for our small plates menu at Eric’s Fish & Chips, so we’ve come up with some more. Look out for beautiful cheesy pea fritters made with smoked cheddar, and classic potato scallops which are sliced potatoes that we deep-fry. They’re absolutely incredible… and perfect with something fresh and light such as our baby gem with a buttermilk vinaigrette and our delicious vegan ‘prawn’ in a crispy lemon coating. Longstanding favourites such as our spinach and halloumi arancini, and fishcake with seaweed seasoning are going nowhere, don’t worry!

Tapas is a something a bit different for a chippie and it’s been a real hit. You’ll see we’ve had a tweak to the menu layout too, just so everything’s crystal clear for customers. Do let us know what you think.

Back at Titchwell Manor, head chef Oli has been working on gathering our simpler bistro-style dishes – and some new ones – into a separate menu. Expect bistro classics with the Titchwell twist and of course packed with all the local, seasonal ingredients that we love. Look out for Market fish, baked with Kings Lynn brown shrimps and anchovy butter or fantastic local Brancaster oysters.

Try them when you’re next with us, and do give us your feedback. You’ll see we’ve had a little spruce-up to the bar area too – it looks lovely and bright in the winter sun.

Top chippie?

We’ve got everything crossed for success at the National Fish & Chip Awards on February 28th where we are finalists in the Best Restaurant category! I’m hoping we could possibly win it, but in all honesty we are very happy to be in the final five, and it’s a great opportunity to take some of the team down to London and to celebrate all the hard work that goes into doing what we do.

On the pizza side, you may have heard us recently on BBC Radio Norfolk talking all things pizza, especially our frozen range. We’ve had some great feedback from local food bloggers who have tried them for us, and I’ve had exciting conversations with local distributors. We’ve also been finalising plans for frozen dough balls which I think will be really popular especially with the number of people that have pizza ovens at home. Hopefully they’ll be in a deli near you soon!

Winter wedding

You know how much we love a wedding at Titchwell Manor, so it was great to have our first of the year recently. It was a fantastic event, with a silent disco which seems to be becoming more and more popular. Ronaldo Meneses always seems to be at the front and sometimes ends up on the dancefloor getting fully involved!

We’re looking forward to another busy year of weddings. I’m really impressed with what our team Kirstie and Amy have delivered, and I’m so proud of the way the staff embrace weddings to make them a really fun event for everyone. The pictures of the team polishing glasses while enjoying the disco really show the relaxed, welcoming and fun environment we always try to create Titchwell Manor.
